Electric mobile racking system is a high-density system for optimizing the space in the warehouse, where the racks are put on mobile chassis guided through tracks on the floor.The chassis is equipped with motor enabling the racks to move along the tracks, leaving the opening for the forklift to access. Opening of only one aisle is required instead of many aisles for forklift to go through as in traditional selective racking system.Upright frames are fixed to the chassis, and beams are used to load the pallets and connect the uprights and chassis, sometimes shelves are used for storage of smaller items. Because the height a forklift could reach is often limited, this racking system is usually for warehouses with low and medium height.
The electric mobile racking system is equipped with PLC to execute commands from the remote control by the operator, smart functions like increasing the opening gap between chassis for better air circulation could be done through PLC programming, such functions make it a semi-automated racking system.
